Brede Birkeland has left his role as chief executive of Platou Sport, a small Norwegian sports retailer. His brother and co-owner, Bjarte Birkeland, will take over. The reason for the shift is that the brothers have decided to split their tasks in a different way, partly because of an increased focus on e-commerce. Brede became CEO in 2004 and later took over ownership of Platou Sport AS. Bjarte has worked with him in finance and administration since 2011. In the future, Brede will work more behind the scenes, focusing mainly on Platou's e-commerce. He will also continue as an active co-owner and as chairman of the company.
