Britain’s first online service for renting golf equipment is up and running. Rentaclub.co.uk will let golfers try products from such market leaders as Callaway, TaylorMade-Adidas Golf, Nike, Cleveland, Srixon and Mizuno. The golfer logs on to the site and with the help of a virtual assistant, chooses the clubs best for his game. The clubs are then delivered the next day. If he decides to buy the product after trying it out, Rentaclub can help him find a PGA professional to fit the clubs. At first only drivers are available, with the Callaway FT-iZ, the Nike Victory Red Tour STR8-Fit, the TaylorMade R9 Super Tri and the Cleveland Launcher DST all expected to be ready for shipping by March at the latest. Renting a driver costs £25 (€27.72-$37.86) and up for five days, and this includes shipping both ways. Additional prices will be named as the roster expands. TGI Golf is partnering with the new website; it provides the free custom fittings if Rentaclub customers wish to buy.
