Cambuci, the Brazilian group that owns the Penalty brand of football and futsal products, has decided to shut down its Spanish subsidiary, Penalty Iberia, after three years of investments and operations. A big Spanish distribution company, Jorcani Sports, is taking over the distribution of the brand in the region. With the help of a former top executive of Reebok in Spain, Oriol Rovira, Jorcani has been diversifying its brand portfolio. It took on the distribution of Li Ning is Spain for a few months after the Chinese company's Spanish subsidiary went bankrupt last November. Penalty sponsors several Spanish players including Víctor Valdés, the goalkeeper of the FC Barcelona football team.
