Christer Johnsen has announced that he is stepping down from his position as chief executive of Rottefella, the big Norwegian producer of cross-country ski bindings. Johnsen has been in charge of the company since 2008 and has not made any statement as to why he is leaving or what his next role will be. The news came as a surprise to many in the Norwegian sporting goods industry. Johnsen has held numerous positions on the boards of Norspo, the Norwegian trade show, and Sportsbransjen, the Norwegian sporting goods industry federation, where he is currently the chairman. As a result of his resignation from Rottefella, he will withdraw from these positions.
