Christophe Weissenberger has been appointed chief executive officer in charge of marketing and sales at the Uvex Sports Group, an arm of the Uvex Group that sells goggles and glasses with the Uvex and Alpina brands. He will join the company at the end of August and fill the position that was left vacant in March, when Alexander Selch left the company by mutual agreement. Selch had been in charge since August 2012. Weissenberger spent the last six years as member of the management team at Schöffel, most recently in charge of marketing and sales. He previously spent nearly four years as marketing and sales director at Spyder Europe. Falk Pewerstorf, who filled in for Selch on an interim basis, remains commercial managing director, chief financial officer and chief operating officer, managing the Uvex sports group's manufacturing plants. Weissenberger and Pewerstorf will both report to Michael Winter, managing partner of the Uvex group, which is a family-owned German company.
