Cintamani, an Icelandic supplier of outdoor apparel, is going to present a special footwear collection at the Friedrichshafen OutDoor show next month. The shoes feature “Green Diamond,” a new sole marketed by an Icelandic-Chinese company. The rubber contains industrial diamonds to increase the grip of the sole. The Icelandic company has been working for two years on setting up a distribution network in Continental Europe. Already present in The Netherlands, Norway, and Sweden, the Icelanders have most recently found new partners in Denmark, Finland, and Germany. Cintamani’s new distributor in Denmark is Unisupply, a company focused on workwear that was previously the Danish representative for Napapijri. The Finnish distribution has been taken over by Helsinki-based Ibex Sport Oy, a company representing outdoor brands like Deuter, Falke, Katadyn, Leki, Meindl and Wechsel tents in Finland. In Germany, Cintamani is still looking for a distributor in the sporting goods sector, but has already found one to cover the horse-riding retail circuit, Jometex, that has also its own brand, Iron Horse.
