Citing its code of conduct, Puma has stopped sponsoring the South African Football Association (SAFA) and Bafana Bafana, the country's soccer team, because of numerous allegations of match fixing over the past couple of years. The alleged manipulation actually goes back before Puma signed the sponsorship contract in June 2011, and even before the 2010 World Cup, which was held in South Africa. A couple of SAFA officials were dismissed and then reinstated in their former positions. Puma said that SAFA had insufficiently responded to the claims.
