CLARIFICATION: We would like to clarify the relationship between the SGN Group of Finland and the Karhu brand, which was mentioned in our recent article about distribution changes at Skins, a brand now distributed by SGN in Finland. Truebell, a Finnish company owned by the SGN Group, is the licensee and distributor for Karhu-branded fitness equipment in Finland, Sweden, Norway and Estonia. The licensor is Karhu International BV, the Dutch-based company that owns the Karhu trademark. Other licensees include Karhu Sporting Goods Oy (KSG) in Finland, the former owner of the Karhu trademark. Under a settlement reached earlier this year between the former and new owners of the Karhu trademark, KSG has a license to manufacture and sell Karhu-branded skis, ski boots and ski poles.
