Clarín, an Argentinian newspaper, reports that Under Armour and Asics are both preparing to set up their own business in the country. It explains that Under Armour was distributed in the country through Grupo Vieytes but that the agreement expired last year and that the U.S. brand intends to expand in the Argentine market with its own stores. Another company, GGM, held distribution rights for Asics until the end of last year, but again Clarín reports that the rights were not extended. GGM's manager told the newspaper that Asics decided to work in the market directly. The Clarín report was spotted by Fashion Network, and the two companies have yet to provide details on their plans for Argentina.
