Cocona, the American materials technology company that is seeking to expand in the sporting goods and outdoor sectors, has secured a private placement for $15 million in additional equity. The company will use the funds for marketing, the development of new technologies and general working capital purposes. Cocona, which was one of the sponsors at the recent European Outdoor Forum, has technology that improves the breathability and drying time of performance apparel. Customers include Adidas, Eddie Bauer, Harley Davidson, The North Face and Under Armour.
