The new international initiative is designed to strengthen youth wellbeing, education and career opportunities through sport.

Building on their longstanding partnership, New Balance Foundation and global foundation Beyond Sport are launching Futures in Motion, a new multi-year, international development program. Beginning in Australia, Japan and Poland, with plans to expand to four additional countries over the next three years, Futures in Motion will leverage sport to promote the physical and overall wellbeing of underserved young people up to age 25 and support the community organizations that serve them. The initiative was co-designed with local experts, to address the specific challenges that young people face in each country.

New Balance Athletics will provide footwear and apparel donations to young people, as well as coordinate associate volunteers at local events to support the work of the grantees selected.

In practical terms, Futures in Motion consists of a combination of grant funding, capacity-building tools and community engagement activities. Through these tools, the program aims to teach essential life skills, enhance wellbeing and inclusion, and foster leadership and career readiness. The program will award hyperlocal multi-year grants to sport-based, youth-focused initiatives. It will also provide collaborative learning platforms and training. In addition, New Balance Athletics will provide footwear and apparel donations, as well as coordinate associate volunteers at local events to support the work of the grantees selected.

Grants will be announced beginning August 2025.
