Confirming earlier reports, Nike has become the new sponsor of the Tottenham Hotspur, a major football club in England's Premier League, taking the place of Under Armour after the end of the current playing season. The duration of the new contract has not been given. Reportedly, it calls for annual sponsorship fees of £150 million (€175.6m-$187.8m), three times higher than was Under Armour has been paying under its five-year-old contract with the North London club. Nike's new deal follows its recent takeover of the Chelsea contract from Adidas, starting at the same time.
