Italy has passed the 4,000 indoor padel court milestone in 2024 and is on track to reach a total of 10,000 courts this year.

In Italy, the number of padel courts grew 8.3 percent to 9,694 in 2024, while padel clubs and facilities grew 7.2 percent, specialist blog Mr Padel Paddle has reported. According to Carlo Ferrara, Research & Data Analysis Manager at the International Padel Federation, the number of padel courts in Italy is projected to reach 10,000 in 2025.

The region with the highest number of padel courts and facilities is Lazio (1,968 courts and 596 facilities), which has 20 percent of the total number of courts in the country, followed by Lombardy (1,339 courts and 423 facilities) and Sicily (865;335). The Italian province with the highest number of padel courts is Rome, the capital of the Lazio region (and of Italy), with 1,525 courts and 409 clubs, followed by Milan with 485 courts and 120 clubs. Lombardy is the region with the highest number of indoor courts (over 1,000).
