Cornilleau is taking pool to the poolside with what the company claims is the first genuine outdoor billiards table. From July 11 to August 25, the Hyphen will be on display in a preview for the “Garden Parvis” summer arrangements at La Défense, the Parisian business district just outside the French capital. According to Cornilleau, the Hyphen reproduces the feel and play of full-scale indoor billiards. The table's four legs are adjustable within a 5 cm margin, and there are five points of adjustment for the playing surface itself. The composite slate rests on four side supports and one center support. The felt will not rot and is washable. The Hyphen has been designed to endure sunlight, rain, moisture and variations in temperature while also serving as “an object of design, a truly decorative piece of furniture.” It is also lightweight enough to be moved by two people. The Hyphen is on sale now. Each table is made to order and comes with a five-year guarantee. Specifications and options are posted at cornilleau.com. Cornilleau is a family-owned company founded in 1969. It is headquartered in Bonneuil-les-Eaux, France, employs 85 people, operates in about 80 countries and generates annual revenues of about €25 million.
