Serve&Volley, the footwear licensee partner of Björn Borg, a subsidiary of Unlimited Footwear Group, has begun restructuring proceedings in the Netherlands. The company is responsible for designing and distributing Björn Borg shoes across Europe, excluding Sweden, Finland, and Denmark.
CEO of Björn Borg, Henrik Bunge, stated, “We had already started a review with the aim of potentially taking over the footwear operations ourselves. The restructuring procedure that has now been initiated may mean that such a takeover will be expedited.”
Despite this development, orders for the spring collection are already in Europe, ready for delivery, minimizing the risk of short-term sales decline. Bunge expressed confidence in the future potential of Björn Borg’s footwear segment, emphasizing its integration into the brand’s operations in Sweden, Finland, and Denmark.
In 2022, footwear sales accounted for approximately 76 million Swedish kronor (€6.7 million) for the Björn Borg Group, contributing around 5.5 million Swedish kronor (€490 500) to the group’s earnings (EBIT) for the same year.
