8AM Golf, the holding company of golf-related brands, has taken a significant equity stake in performance footwear brand PAYNTR Golf. Based in Portland, Oregon, PAYNTR Golf was founded in 2021 by sports performance footwear experts Mike Forsey, MichaelGlancy and David Paynter. The strategic investment will support PAYNTR Golf’s growing presence across green-grass, direct-to-consumer, and big-box retail channels including PGA TOUR Superstore, Dick’s Sporting Goods and Golf Galaxy, as well as its global growth potential. Forsey and Glancy will retain majority ownership and continue to lead the brand’s strategic direction, Forbes reports.

PAYNTR Golf’s ambassador roster includes Jason Day, who was PAYNTR’s first PGA Tour ambassador and also became an equity investor in 2024, and other PGA Tour players like Min Woo Lee and Sam Burns. Beyond the US, PAYNTR has expanded into international markets including the UK, Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia, Australia and parts of Europe.

8AM Golf brings together a range of golf brands focused on improving the experience of players of every skill level. It was created by businessman and philanthropist Howard Milstein as the holding company that oversees his golf businesses. Justin Timberlake partnered with 8AM Golf in 2020 and is currently leading creative initiatives across the 8AM portfolio. 8AM companies span the player experience, from equipment to media, technology and more. The 8AM portfolio includes media brands Golf Magazine and Golf.com, and handmade club maker Miura Golf, among other businesses.
