The American exercise equipment and media company Peloton has announced a multi-year, multi-country partnership with Google’s Fitbit to offer a portfolio of Peloton classes to Fitbit Premium users starting early September of this year.
From then, Fitbit devices in the US, UK, Canada and Australia can access Peloton classes across strength, Pilates, running, boxing, cycling, barre and other categories. According to a company statement, the app will be updated incrementally with new content. The partnership also discounts Peloton members on Google Pixel watches and Fitbit Charge 6 devices.
Peloton has over 130 showrooms in the US, and the company’s revenue was €2.5 billion in 2023. Fitbit, owned by Google since 2021, has sold over 120 million devices and has 29 million users in over 100 countries.
After Peloton communicated the partnership, shares were up nearly 5 percent and another 7 percent the day after.
“We’re thrilled to bring Peloton’s classes and world-class instructors to Fitbit users and continue to establish Peloton as a one-stop shop for all types of fitness content,” said Greg Hybl, SVP and General Manager of Peloton for Business.
