WeSports Scandinavia AB is expanding its portfolio by acquiring Nordic Floorball AB, a specialist retailer of floorball equipment with a well-established physical store and e-commerce platform. The acquisition is an add-on to WeSports’ floorball specialist Klubbhuset, and the company will be integrated under this brand.
WeSports is one of the biggest sports distributors in the Nordic countries, specialized in buying and developing e-commerce platforms in the sports industry. The company is the number one player in bike and fitness sales in Sweden. With all the 47 brands combined, the company’s turnover is estimated to be 1.8 billion Swedish kroner (€159.1m).
The company has had difficulties in its home country, the Nordic countries. Earlier this year, WeSports shut down the bike retail platform Bikester’s physical store in Stockholm, which had only been open for a couple of years. Bikester, a big e-commerce player in Sweden, couldn’t make the store profitable.
With the acquisition of Nordic Floorball and following integration with Klubbhuset, WeSports will enhance its floorball offering to both teams and individual players. The combined companies will benefit from greater inventory availability, faster service, and expanded event support – leveraging the synergies created through WeSports’ infrastructure.
