Cortina has bought the rights to the Patrick brand for the USA, Canada and Mexico through its 100 percent owned subsidiary Patrick Holding, and it is looking for distributors in those countries. Those rights were held by Lonsdale, the company now owned by Mike Ashley, which marketed Patrick shoes in the USA for a while. Last December, the Belgian footwear trading company bought the 50 percent share it did not yet hold in Patrick Holding from its former Danish owners. Patrick Holding owns the rights to the French sports shoe brand for all the countries of Europe and Africa with a few exceptions such as the U.K., where they belong to an entity that licenses the brand to JJB Sports.
