Finland-based Amer Sports has announced that the group will officially become a network member of the Ellen McArthur Foundation. The international charity develops and promotes the circular economy to tackle some of the biggest challenges of our time, including climate change, biodiversity loss, waste and pollution.

“Sustainability and sport are inherently intertwined, with each step and stride echoing the impact on our planet. Embracing circular design and business models isn’t just about scoring environmental points – it’s about safeguarding both people and the planet and recognizing that our actions today determine the game plan for future generations,” said Nikki De La Cruz, Director of Global Sustainability at Wilson, who also leads Amer Sports’ relationship with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation.

By joining the Ellen MacArthur Foundation network, Amer Sports joins a vibrant ecosystem of industry leaders, innovators, government agencies and regions, all with the goal of accelerating the global transition to a circular economy and addressing shared challenges.

In addition, Amer’s brand Arc’teryx has announced its participation in the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s The Fashion ReModel project. This global apparel industry project aims to find solutions and overcome barriers to scaling circular business models. The Fashion ReModel works with industry pioneers, both high street and luxury brands and other industry leaders, to make circular business models the norm and drive sustainability and innovation in the fashion sector. Arc’teryx is one of the first participants in this foundation-led project.

Participation in The Fashion ReModel represents a significant step for Arc’teryx towards its recently announced climate goals and its commitment to become a net-zero company by 2050 or sooner.
