Argan and Decathlon have upgraded four logistics warehouses in France with high-efficiency heat pumps, replacing gas boilers to reduce energy use and cut carbon emissions by 700 tons per year.

The four warehouses total more than 170,000 square metres and serve as key hubs in Decathlon’s distribution network for France and Europe. The new heat pumps cut energy consumption and reduce annual CO₂ emissions by 700 tons—equivalent to the yearly emissions of 120 French citizens.

The upgrade supports Argan’s goal to halve its portfolio’s carbon footprint by 2030, from 24,000 tons in 2022 to 12,000 tons. All systems were installed without disrupting warehouse operations. “This coordinated rollout demonstrates the strength of our partnership and our ability to deliver efficient, sustainable solutions,” said Stéphane Cassagne, Argan’s head of asset management and development.
