Together with a handful of handball professionals, including Asics-sponsored Océane Sercien and Dylan Nahi, Asics, the association We Are Etandart and the city of Paris have inaugurated a newly renovated handball court at Square Montholon in the 9th arrondissement of the capital.
The project, called Uplift Court, aims to make spontaneous sports activities more accessible to Parisians, which is also Asics’ ambition. The brand and the city of Paris signed a two-year partnership in October 2023 to simplify physical activity and facilitate access to sport in Paris. In France, one in four people suffers from mental health problems. According to a study by YouGov France, 88 percent of Parisians believe in the positive impact of physical exercise on their mental health.
To encourage exercise, Asics and We Are Etandart will organize three weeks of free training, including handball and yoga, on the new court between September and November to get Parisians moving.
The court was designed by the artist Opera Graphik.
