Internetstores, the Germany bike and outdoor retailer, has hired the consulting firm EPEA, headquartered in the same city of Stuttgart, to overhaul environmental policy for its full value chain. EPEA began a three-month review of operations in June, after which it will draft a comprehensive proposal – with its “Cradle to Cradle” approach – to help Internetstores enter the circular economy. According to EPEA’s managing director, Dr. Hans Dohrmann, this will be done “with the help of renewable energies and digitalization.” The retailer claims to be climate neutral already. The logistics department is increasing the proportion of plastic-free parcels it dispatches, and the company has been testing reusable packaging in Scandinavia.
