Lenzing has once again earned Platinum status in EcoVadis’ sustainability rating, placing among the top 1 percent of companies worldwide. The Austria-based fiber producer also retained the top ranking in Canopy’s Hot Button Report, confirming its leadership in sustainable fiber sourcing and innovation.

Launched in Paris in 2007, EcoVadis has grown into a global provider of business sustainability ratings, with a network of more than 150,000 rated companies. EcoVadis’ methodology covers environment, labor & human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement.

Additionally, Lenzing has once again taken first place in this year’s Hot Button Report, published by Canadian non-profit organization Canopy. The Hot Button Report, now in its tenth edition, is a tool for assessing man-made cellulosic fiber (MMCF). It provides a snapshot of how MMCF producers are phasing out sourcing from what Canopy and others call the world’s Ancient and Endangered Forests and accelerating the transition to low-carbon, circular alternatives. Lenzing, which shared the top spot with China’s Tangshan Sanyou, scored 34.5 out of 40 points and no known risk of sourcing from ancient and endangered forests.

Canopy’s Hot Button Report assesses the world’s largest MMCF producers on their performance in three key areas: raw materials sourcing, innovation in low-impact fiber alternatives and supply chain transparency.
