As one of its contributions to the environment, Lululemon will test a resale program for its clothing in California and Texas in May, adding some other markets in June. Called Like New, the program will allow customers to receive e-gift cards in exchange for “gently used” Lululemon garments dropped at one of the 80+ participating stores. From June on, the resale program will also be available online. All the profits will be reinvested on sustainability initiatives. Lululemon will be partnering with Trove to clean the products with state-of-the-art technology before offering them again like Patagonia, which has been carrying out a similar program for years. Furthermore, Lululemon has announced the launch in May of Earth Dye, described as a new limited edition of clothing made with earth-friendly dyes.
