The project shows Misto Korea routing retail surplus – underwear, school bags, old uniforms – through partner organizations into a recurring community welfare program.

For the third year in a row, Misto Korea has donated care kits made from reclaimed textiles and surplus materials to vulnerable female youths ages 10 to 20. The latest donation delivered 450 kits to families in Seoul’s Seongbuk gu district as part of the “Return to Care” campaign.

Each kit pairs an upcycled pouch with menstrual pads to support young women and girls with limited access to essential menstrual products. The donation is the campaign’s third project since its 2023 launch and falls under two of the company’s core CSR (corporate social responsibility) pillars: “Planet” and “People.”

How “Return to Care” turns surplus into donations

“Return to Care” gives surplus inventory, discarded apparel and other underused materials a second life by converting them into new products for donation. This year’s project was run with the Giving Plus Foundation and social enterprise Touch4Good.

In April, Misto Korea donated FILA underwear and FILA Kids school bags valued at about KRW 1 billion to a Giving Plus charity bazaar. A share of the bazaar proceeds then funded the latest care kit project.

Touch4Good produced the 450 pouches from uniforms it had collected earlier from another company, embroidering each with an image of FILA’s mascot, FILA WONY. Personal care company Kleannara supplied the menstrual pads in each kit.

Local ceremony, broader context

Misto Korea marked the donation with a ceremony on July 24 at the Seongbuk gu Office. Attendees included Seongbuk gu mayor Lee Seung ro, Misto Korea CEO Kim Ji heon and Giving Plus Foundation executive director Namgung Kyu, along with representatives from the participating organizations.

The project follows our read of Misto Holdings’ 2025 sustainability report, which flagged the group’s circularity initiatives as a comparative strength versus slower progress on supply chain and governance disclosure.
