Technogym’s entry into the Dow Jones Best-in-Class Europe Index reflects scores that run two to three times above sector norms across energy, health and reporting — a pattern consistent with a company that sells wellness as its core commercial proposition and is building the operational infrastructure to substantiate that claim.
Technogym has been included in the Dow Jones Best-in-Class Europe Index (DJ BIC Europe), formerly known as the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI). The Dow Jones Best in Class indices are sustainability benchmarks tracking the performance of companies leading in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices in their respective sectors.
Technogym emphasized the scores it obtained in the following categories:
- Energy (with a score of 81/100 against an average of 45), highlighted by the company’s photovoltaic system, which covers up to 100 percent of the Technogym Village’s energy needs;
- Occupational Health & Safety (with a score of 94/99 against an average of 28), which includes the Working4Wellness program, a welfare initiative specifically focused on the employees’ health and wellness;
- Transparency & Reporting (with a score of 100/100 against an average of 38), reflecting transparency in corporate reporting to all stakeholders.
The new photovoltaic system at the Technogym Village, i.e. the corporate headquarters in Cesena, Italy, became operational earlier this year. The infrastructure has a total capacity of over 2 MW and spans approximately 17,000 square meters. Thanks to solar energy production, the system is capable of meeting the Technogym Village’s total electricity requirements, including those of its production facilities and offices.
The DJ BIC indices help investors track equity markets by applying a sustainability best-in-class selection process. The Dow Jones Best-in-Class Europe Index includes European sustainability leaders as identified by S&P Global’s Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA).
