Dam has hired André Akkermans, the former European managing director of Fox International, as its new managing director. Akkermans left Fox in 2015 to launch his own fishing consulting business. He has now joined the business with full responsibility for all operations, including product development, marketing and sales. He replaces Jesper Bach Sorensen, who has left Dam to seek a new challenge. Akkermans will be based in his hometown of Breda, in the Netherlands. Prior to his 14 years at Fox, Akkermans spent eight years at Sensas, where he built the brand's Benelux operation. Svendsen Sport and Dam were acquired by Maj Investment Equity, a Danish equity fund in 2015.
