David McCreight is the new president of Under Armour. He will be responsible for the strategic long-term development and growth of the company and for the management of its core business units, which are apparel, footwear and accessories. His functions will include the brand’s marketing and the supervision of the wholesale and direct-to-consumer distribution channels. Kevin Plank, the former president of the company, will become chief executive and chairman of the board of directors and will take care of the global brand strategy and its growth. McCreight was formerly president of Lands’ End, where he led this domestic catalog business to become a lifestyle brand. Under Armour is already showing a 27 percent growth in the first quarter of 2008. This year it is launching its first ever non-cleated footwear collection.
