Decathlon and the National Basketball Association (NBA) have announced a multiyear expansion to their existing merchandising partnership, encompassing a more comprehensive offering of officially licensed NBA products in Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Latin America. Decathlon was named official NBA licensee in January 2021. The sporting goods retailer has been developing NBA team and league-branded base layers, accessories and footwear, sold exclusively at some 1,700 Decathlon stores worldwide. In future seasons, the collaboration will additionally include customizable kits for basketball teams, as teams will have the opportunity to design their own teamwear. Decathlon, headquartered in Villeneuve-d’Ascq, near the French city of Lille, has stores in 70 countries and a global workforce of 105,000 people.
