Decathlon has opened its first store in Tunisia and contracted a local logistics provider, Tanger Med, to handle its shipments to the growing number of stores it has in Africa. Covering more than 1,500 square meters in the Tunis City shopping mall, the store is reportedly set to be followed by another one at a different location in Tunisia in the first half of next year. The French retailer is already sourcing some of its products in the country. According to the newspaper Les Echos, Decathlon has retailing projects in other African countries such as Algeria, Egypt, Ethiopia and Kenya. It already has a presence in Morocco, Congo, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Senegal and South Africa.
