Decathlon has withdrawn an advertising poster promoting ammunition for hunting migratory game birds in the city of Ajaccio, the capital of the French island of Corsica. It featured a bird accompanied by a large script reading as “special migration” (Migration Special). The message of the poster was diverted by Nordpresse.be, a satirical Belgian website, to be associated with a recent anti-immigration campaign led by Robert Ménard, the right-wing mayor of Béziers, in southern France. It made the rounds of the social networks.
