Decathlon made headlines in the French media with an announcement that it will stop selling sport hijabs under its Kalenji brand in France, although they don't cover the whole face. It did so after prominent politicians and members of the government went so far as to call for a boycott on the French company. Muslim veils are tolerated on women in France except in schools and certain other places, in the name of secularism and female emancipation. Decathlon has already been selling sport hijabs in Morocco. Nike is offering them in France as well as in other countries, but Decathlon was attacked because it is a French company.
