Derby Cycle has used some of the proceeds from its recent public offering to take over the distribution in the U.K. and Australia as part of its internationalization process. The company, which recently merged into Pon Holdings, is the largest bicycle manufacturer in Germany, where it produces bikes under the Focus, Kalkoff, Raleigh, Rixe and Univega brand names. Quoting preliminary figures, the company has reported a 25.8 percent increase in sales for the fourth quarter to €36.6 million, leading to a 36 percent increase to €235.5 million for the full financial year, ended last Sept. 30. Final figures are expected to be announced on Jan. 26.
