Donna Carpenter is to take over from Mike Rees as chief executive of Burton Snowboards at the beginning of February. John Lacy, who has long been employed by Burton, will take over her job as the brand's president. Donna Carpenter is a co-owner of Burton Snowboards and the wife of Jake Burton, who established the company in 1977. She has been Burton's president for the last five years. Carpenter will continue to supervise sustainability, legal affairs, human resources, U.S. sales and the Chill Foundation. Reporting directly to Carpenter, Lacy is to oversee product, marketing, operations and finance, and to lead Burton's international business in Europe, Asia-Pacific and Canada. The company's chief executive since May 2014, Rees is said to be moving to be closer to his family in Pennsylvania but he will continue to work for Burton, which is based in Vermont, as a senior financial adviser on a full-time basis. Jake Burton, who has been recovering from a serious disease earlier this year, will continue in his current function as the company's chairman.
