Amazon has announced plans to open its first logistics base in Turkey in autumn 2022. The facility, which will be based in Istanbul’s Tuzla municipality, is expected to create 1,000 new jobs during the first year. Amazon is investing more than 100 million dollars in the new site, which is intended to help meet growing customer demand in the country. As part of Amazon’s commitment to be net-zero carbon across its business by 2040, the building will be powered entirely by electricity, including its heating and hot water systems, thereby avoiding the use of fossil fuel combustibles, the company said.
