E-bike sales in Germany jumped by 36 percent in 2018 as compared to 2017, reaching 980,000 units sold. This means that one out of every four bicycles sold in the country was an e-bike. These figures, among others, were contained in the latest report of the Zweirad-Industrie-Verband (ZIV), the German industry association, as reported by Bike Europe. Meanwhile, Germany’s total market value of regular bicycles and e-bikes combined rose by 16.3 percent to €3.16 billion last year.
