Ebay has introduced a ’click-to-resell’ feature, enhancing the ease with which users can list their pre-loved clothing on the platform. This innovation is part of Ebay’s strategy to position itself as a leader in the recommerce clothing market, providing a seamless method for reselling fashion items and advancing product circularity.
Charis Marquez, Global General Manager of Fashion at Ebay, emphasized the feature’s benefits: “Reducing friction and removing barriers to brands and consumers engaging in recommerce is crucial to fostering a pre-loved fashion marketplace. Our new resell feature helps brands keep their product out of landfill, while giving consumers an incredibly easy way to give their item a second life.”
The feature integrates with Certilogo’s Secure by Design digital ID. Users can scan the smart label on connected products to access a digital brand experience, which includes a ‘resell on Ebay’ button. Clicking this button leads to an authentication check through Certilogo’s AI-based system, followed by a pre-filled Ebay listing, streamlining the resale process.
