Eilers Sport, which is described by Sport Partner as the oldest sports distribution company in the Netherlands, is to be taken over by French partners. Eilers is a wholesaler selling specialist team sports and other products to retailers, from brands like Mikasa, Easton, Toalson, Porter, Ihsan and Trial, among others. It also has a strong grip on the distribution of sports equipment to schools and other institutions. Rob Eilers, the 72 year-old owner of the company, has reportedly reached an agreement to sell it to Paul Lemonnier and Loïc le Goff, the men behind VB Sports, a producer of sports nets in northern France. Eilers was established in 1896 by Gerard Eilers. All employees are to stay at the company, which is to be renamed Eilers Handel Nederland. It will be supervised by Le Goff.
