Eurolight, distributor of Reusch in the Benelux countries, will be taking over the same task for Germany and the UK at the beginning of next year. These two countries are currently covered respectively by Reusch Germany, based in Metzingen, and by Bob Fiddler, a British sales agent in Cheshire. Eurolight will continue to work with Fiddler and the German sales team, but the company’s warehouse in Metzingen is likely to be closed down and the German sales team might move to another location closer to the Netherlands. Reusch would still retain a factory outlet and its office in Metzingen for a handful of employees of Reusch International, while most of the other international staff have long moved to the company’s main international head office in Valencia, Spain. The German warehousing functions will be taken over by Eurolight, which has about 2,000 square meters of facilities in Schiedam, near Rotterdam. Owned by Erol Ertan, a self-made entrepreneur, Eurolight is a weighty Dutch company with distribution rights in the Benelux for several other leading brands, from Head to Penn, Tyrolia, Nidecker and Dakine. Reusch decided to change its distribution structure after a successful experiment in Austria and Italy just over two years ago. Austrian sales rose by more than 20 percent in the first year after distribution for the country was taken over by Erich Weitzmann in Milan.
