According to research from the European Sponsorship Association (ESA) and Nielsen Sports, the total value of Europe’s sponsorship market increased by 6.2 percent over the past year from €29.05 billion to €30.86 billion. Sponsorship across Europe returned to pre-pandemic levels in 2023. The total volume exceeded the previous record high of €30.69 billion measured in 2019, prior to the Covid-19 pandemic. The 2024 ESA Sponsorship Market Overview covers sport and non-sport, and both sectors registered an increase in 2023. Sport achieved a record high volume of €21.98 billion, compared with €20.69 billion in 2022 and €20.26 billion in 2019.
