Europêche and Concept Pro Pêche, while maintaining their independence, have signed a cooperation agreement to increase their bargaining and purchasing power. The two French fishing-tackle retail chains, which have 195 stores between them, have announced in a letter to suppliers that they are pooling their resources and founding an Economic Interest Group (EIG). According to Angling International, which secured a copy of the letter, the companies have called on suppliers to “better meet the expectations of our members and develop with us.” The signatories are Xavier de Robert, deputy chief executive of Europêche, and Philippe Reynaud of Concept Pro Pêche.
