eVent has a new material called DVdryLT specifically designed for waterproof footwear. This fabric is said to be extremely lightweight and breathable while maintaining a high degree of moisture resistance. eVent DVdryLT advances breathability thanks to a new air permeable Direct Venting membrane developed specifically for lightweight shoes. In the DVdryLT technology the laminate becomes the shoe's upper and this type of construction is said to reduce layers, weight and manufacturing processes. This spring Topo Athletic will release the Hydroventure trail shoe, the first product to bring this new technology to the market. Meanwhile, eVent is growing with new brands in various countries. In the U.K. Stuburt now offers waterproof golf shoes. Greenham, a U.K.-based distributor of safety and workwear equipment, is using eVent Protective as the premium technology for its special hazards footwear and apparel. In Spain, OS2O features the eVent in its BreathOut jacket. Midway USA, a retailer specializing in the hunting, shooting and outdoor markets, is offering a “Signature Series” parka which combines eVent and PrimaLoft for protection from the cold. Banks Journal, a U.S.-based surf brand, is also using eVent technologies to help surfers stay dry.
