The new DP World India Championship is expected further to popularize the sport of golf in the country.
Multinational logistics provider DP World and the DP World Tour, the leading men’s professional golf four in Europe, have launched the DP World India Championship, a new $4 million tournament. This is the largest total purse ever offered for a DP World Tour event in India.
The new championship, co-sanctioned with the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI), will be held at the Delhi Golf Club on Oct. 16-19, in the Tour’s first return to Delhi Golf Club since 2016. It follows on the success of the Hero Indian Open in March of this year, also in New Delhi.
The championship will be the eighth of nine events in the “Back 9” phase of the DP World Tour’s 2025 Race to Dubai – the season’s second phase, after Global Swings.
