The European Fitness Award (EFA) premiered in Berlin on Nov. 18, hosted by RSG Group—operator of McFIT, JOHN REED, and Gold’s Gym—recognizing individuals and initiatives driving innovation and impact in Europe’s fitness sector.

Berlin’s Soho House set the stage for the first European Fitness Award, an initiative by RSG Group, one of Europe’s leading fitness companies. The event celebrated outstanding contributions to fitness, health, and lifestyle, spotlighting projects and personalities shaping the industry’s evolution.

The ceremony drew a high-profile guest list from sports, entertainment, and fitness, including Olympic champions Franziska van Almsick, Katarina Witt, and Kristina Vogel, alongside figures like Ralf Moeller, André Schürrle, and Roman Weidenfeller. Music duo The BossHoss added star power to the evening.

Why this matters

By introducing EFA, RSG Group positions fitness alongside other lifestyle-driven award ecosystems, similar to fashion and sports honors. For the sporting goods industry, this matters: fitness influencers and athletes recognized at such events gain visibility that translates into stronger brand partnerships and endorsement opportunities. As the athlete economy expands beyond traditional sports, awards like EFA amplify marketability for trainers, athletes, and wellness entrepreneurs—key players in shaping consumer trends across apparel, footwear, and connected fitness tech.
