The General Assembly also voted in favor of Edgar Grospiron as its President.

The Organizing Committee of the French Alps 2030 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (OCOG) was officially created on Feb. 18 following its inaugural General Assembly at Lyon Stadium in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, one of the host regions.

The General Assembly also voted in Edgar Grospiron as President.

Edgar Grospiron is the new President.

Grospiron has extensive experience in the Olympic and sports movement. He was the first Olympic mogul skiing champion on home soil at the 1992 Albertville Winter Games. He was subsequently appointed CEO of the Annecy 2018 Olympic Winter Games Candidature Team and was a member of the IOC PyeongChang 2018 Coordination Commission.

IOC President Thomas Bach has congratulated the Committee on its creation expressed his confidence in Grospiron’s expertise as an Olympic champion and executive in sports management.
