World Triathlon, previously known as the International Triathlon Union, and the Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO) are expanding their commercial relationship with a 12-year strategic partnership that will run until 2036. In August 2023, the two organization announced their collaboration on a new Official World Championship Tour of Long Distance Triathlon and then the launch of the T100 Triathlon World Tour in January 2024, and they are now taking their partnership a step further.
The new partnership agreement, initially running through to 2036, includes the sole and exclusive Official World Championship Tour of Long Distance Triathlon, Anti-doping, Safeguarding and collaboration on rights management, including sponsorship and broadcast. It also involves a framework to team up on new opportunities to grow the sport, including hosting shorter-distance events alongside the T100 Tour.
The two organizations introduced new anti-doping measures earlier this year.
