The Authentic Brands Group (ABG), the rapidly expanding New York-based brand ownership and licensing group founded and run by Jamie Salter, has set up a subsidiary for the EMEA region in London and hired Henry Stupp to run it. As president of ABG EMEA, he is tasked of driving ABG’s brand and business expansion in EMEA and India. A veteran on ABG, Taylor Morono, will join Stupp to develop ABG’s London office and the expansion of its brands in the region as senior vice president of the subsidiary.

Stupp brings 30 years of experience in the licensing and brand marketing industry to ABG. Most recently, he served as CEO of Apex Global Brands (formerly Cherokee Global Brands), who brand portfolio includes Hi-Tec, Magnun and Tony Hawk. As previously reported, Apex is set to go private by merging with a sourcing and brand management company, Galaxy Universal.

During his decade-long tenure at Apex, Stupp introduced many licenses and brands to a broad, global retail and wholesale audience, in addition to overseeing mergers and acquisitions. Prior to joining Cherokee, Stupp co-founded NTD Apparel, a licensee of entertainment, character, sports and branded apparel and supplier of apparel and accessories to major North American retailers. A qualified NYSE and NASDAQ financial expert, Stupp also served on the board of Apex Global Brands.

ABG’s vast brand portfolio includes Above the Rim, Airwalk, Eddie Bauer, Greg Norman, Prince, Spyder, Tretorn, Vision Street Wear and Volcom, among others. ABG is reportedly bidding jointly with Wolverine Worldwide for the takeover of Reebok.
