Andreas Sievers started as the new managing director of Victor Europe, the subsidiary of Victor Rackets based in Germany, on June 1. He succeeds Rolf Aurin, who held this position jointly with Jan Beutler from 1997 and alone from 2019. The two executives had bought the rights to the Taiwanese brand of badminton products for most European countries in 1997 after the death of Guido Schmidt, who had held the rights for Germany since 1978. The Taiwanese company bought Victor Europe in 2017, adding the trademark rights for France and Sweden in the next year. The departure of Aurin, who is moving outside the sporting goods industry, had been planned for the past two years. Sievers has been with Victor for over 27 years, working for a long time in the company’s senior management team, mainly in sales, marketing and human resources.
