JD Sports Fashion has announced the departure of Andy Rubin, chairman of Pentland Brands, as a non-executive director of the retailer, which is controlled by the Pentland Group with a stake of 51.9 percent. He was replaced on May 6 by Andy Long, an executive director of Pentland Group that was previously the CEO of Pentland Brands. Rubin, who spent five years on JD’s board, has also been a board member of Sport England, the English agency for the promotion of sports activities, since 2016. He remains vice chairman of the board at Pentland Group, where his father, Stephen Rubin, is still the chairman.
